Running Analysis
Omphysio Service
Running Analysis is sometimes referred to as Gait Analysis, Motion Analysis or Biomechanics.
Whether as an activity on it’s own or a component of your sports, running has a crucial role in the practice of most sports disciplines.
Maximising your performance is our ultimate goal. We therefore recommend our clients to benefit from a thorough analysis of their running technique when there is a need to:
- Identify biomechanical faults – Incorrect patterns of movement when you run, which can lead to overuse injuries (e.g. anterior knee pain, shin splints, Achilles Tendon pain), hamper recovery from injury or limit your performance.
- Improve your running technique, run with greater control to avoid early fatigue.
- Improve your running economy – Reduce the amount of energy you spend to run a set distance to maximise your performance.
- Assess the effectiveness of your new or old running shoes in order to make sure that they suit your running style and are appropriate to your sport.
Once we have identified the relevant issues Omphysio will recommend a specific plan of action. We recommend your running to be reviewed regularly to check progress.
